Our Juneteenth Celebration began just two years ago, and it continues to grow as a powerful event that brings our community together to honor the rich history and resilience of African Americans. Juneteenth, also known as Freedom Day, marks the day in 1865 when the last enslaved African Americans in Texas were finally informed of their freedom—two and a half years after the Emancipation Proclamation. This day is a vital reminder of the enduring struggle for freedom and equality, and it serves as an important opportunity for reflection, education, and celebration.
Next year will be our 3rd Annual Juneteenth Celebration, and we’re aiming to make it bigger and better than ever. As we continue to honor this significant day, we look forward to expanding our celebration with more events, educational opportunities, and activities that bring people of all backgrounds together. Join us in making this year’s celebration a momentous one as we commemorate our history, celebrate progress, and inspire future generations to continue the fight for justice.
